In general the people of Galapagos are very warm, friendly and always willing to help visitors. The population in the Galapagos is approximately 20,000 and its main activity is fishing and tourism. Galapagos is a mixture of culture among people who came from the Highlands, the Amazon Jungle and the coast of Ecuador. Researchers and scientists in particular from the U.S. and Europe have also become a part of the culture in the Galapagos and pleasantly accustomed to life in the Galapagos.

People from the highlands of Ecuador tend to speak calmly and slowly, than people from the coast of Ecuador, who spoke quickly and loudly. There are only four inhabited islands of the Galapagos: Santa Cruz, Isabela, Floreana and San Cristobal. Puerto Ayora is the most important city. Located on the island of Santa Cruz and has approximately 4000 inhabitants.

One of the most lucrative activities, which is also an important role in the economy is a collection of Galapagos Sea Cucumbers mainly on the islands of Isabela and Fernandina. Sea Cucumbers are invertebrates, which have high demand in Asia, because they have to be an aphrodisiac. People from Asia are always willing to pay huge sums of money for the Galapagos sea cucumber.

Foreigners have also contributed to the Galapagos Islands culture, many of them appeared in the Galapagos their little piece of heaven. Most of them come from the U.S. and Europe and gained a ship or tour company offering tours and various services for visitors, which are almost 180,000 a year now.
